Women´s breath
Understand your hormones
As women, our bodies navigate a dynamic landscape—from the first stirrings of adolescence, through the rhythms of menstruation, the profound shifts of pregnancy, to the transitions of menopause. Each phase brings its own challenges and transformations, influencing our energy, focus, and connection in the saddle.
At EquesBreathing, we honor the natural rhythms of a woman’s life. Hormonal shifts aren’t obstacles; they’re integral parts of our journey as riders. By attuning to our breath, we find balance amidst change, deepening our connection with our horses and ourselves.
Let’s embrace each phase with awareness and compassion, riding in harmony with our evolving bodies.
And why to start the journey with me?
I’ve been on quite a journey with my hormones. For as long as I can remember, my periods were intense. The first two days were so debilitating that I often didn’t want to leave the house. The pain was overwhelming, and I relied heavily on medication, even prescription-strength, to get through it. I pleaded with doctors for help, but the response was always the same: “You just have to endure it; almost every woman suffers.” They told me things might improve after childbirth.
And yes, after giving birth, the pain lessened, but my periods became even heavier.
Fortunately, during my journey of self-discovery, I encountered Patrik and his Oxygen Advantage method. This approach transformed my life and how I perceive “those days.” The migraines disappeared, the pain subsided, mood swings stabilized, and I became more attuned to myself. I learned how to plan my training sessions in harmony with my cycle, and I’m eager to share this knowledge with you.
You no longer have to just survive; you can finally start living without pain.

Hormonal Milestones in a Woman's Life and Their Impact on Riding
Our bodies are in constant flux, influenced by hormonal changes that shape our physical and emotional experiences. Understanding these shifts can empower us to navigate each phase with awareness and grace, especially in the saddle.

Hormonal Milestones and Their Impact on Riding
Puberty
Hormonal changes during puberty can lead to emotional fluctuations and physical growth, affecting posture and coordination. Incorporating conscious breathing techniques can help young riders stabilize their balance and enhance body awareness in the saddle.
Reproductive Years
Throughout the menstrual cycle, fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels can influence energy, mood, and muscle function. Practicing regulated breathing can aid in managing these variations, promoting consistent performance and maintaining balance during rides.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy induces significant physiological changes, including increased oxygen demand and altered balance due to weight distribution. Engaging in gentle breathing exercises can support respiratory efficiency and help maintain stability, adapting to the body’s evolving needs.
Perimenopause and Menopause
The decline in estrogen levels during these phases can lead to symptoms like breathlessness and decreased coordination. Implementing deep breathing practices can alleviate respiratory discomfort and assist in preserving balance, ensuring continued confidence and comfort in riding activities.
Understanding these hormonal phases empowers riders to adapt their training and riding approaches, utilizing EquesBreathing techniques to navigate each stage with resilience and poise.
